Every recorded course starts as a draft with a title and description. The Information screen holds everything students read about the course, and Setup shows at a glance what is done and what is missing. Instructors and campuses use the same screens; the differences for campuses are noted below. The fee and the certificate design are set by NSDP, not on these screens.

Information: the intro video (on Basic Details)

The Intro video card sits on Basic Details, right under the course image, so it is easy to find. It holds one field: the Intro video for this course. It is optional and marked Recommended. There is no provider to pick; the portal reads it from the link.

  1. Step 1: Paste a link or upload a file

Video link takes a YouTube, Vimeo or other https link (up to 2000 characters). Or choose Upload a video for an MP4, WebM or MOV file.

  2. Step 2: Check the preview

The video plays under the field, as students will see it. Remove video clears it.

  3. Step 3: Choose Save intro video

On a live course the change is saved, then goes through review like any other change.

When an intro video is set, students see it on the course page in the student portal and on the NSDP website. 1 to 3 minutes is enough: say who you are, what students will learn and who the course is for.

Publishing, unpublishing and unlisting

  • For campus courses, and for instructors' courses in most schools, a draft goes live through review: choose Submit for review at the top of the course, write what you made and choose Send to NSDP. Publish Course on this screen sends a draft for review too.
  • When the school does not review an instructor's own courses, Publish course puts the draft live straight away.
  • Unpublish Course takes a live course back to draft. Unlist from Catalog hides a live course from the catalogue while it can still be bought by direct link; List in Catalog undoes it.
  • On a live course that needs review, these are saved like any other change and wait for Submit changes for review.

Course status

  • UnpublishedA draft. Students can't see it. Shown as Draft in some lists.
  • PublishedLive in the catalogue; students can enrol.
  • UnlistedLive, but hidden from the catalogue. Reachable by direct link.
  • ArchivedTaken down. Archived courses are removed after a while.

Saving a live course

  • While the course is a draft, each save updates it straight away.
  • Once the course is published and needs review, a save is kept as saved, not submitted yet. Students keep the approved version.
  • When all your edits are done, choose Submit changes for review at the top of the course and write what you changed (at least 10 characters). See What happens when a course is sent for review.

The Setup screen

Setup is an overview, not a settings page: modules and lessons so far, the current price and any promotional rate, the title (with Edit Title), the cover image (with Update Image), the course ID with a Copy button, and shortcuts to Curriculum, Pricing, Preview and Comments.

Checklist itemDone when
Create modulesThe course has at least one module.
Add lessonsThere is at least one lesson.
Add course informationLearning outcomes, requirements and audience are listed.
Set pricingA price is set. With the fee set by NSDP this is done for you.
Add thumbnailA cover image is set.

The list is headed Launch checklist. It is a guide: it doesn't block submitting, but missing items are the usual reason a review comes back with changes requested.

Differences for campuses

  • No Generate with AI buttons, and no internal ID card.
  • The page is headed Course details with Save all changes.
  • Every publish goes to NSDP review. Once the course is live, saved changes wait until the campus chooses Submit changes for review.
  • The instructor is chosen when the course is created and can't be changed in the workspace.
  • If the campus is suspended the course is read-only.
  • See The campus course workspace, tab by tab for the campus header, Submit for review and Withdraw from review.

FAQ

Do saves on a draft go to review?

No. While a course is a draft, saving updates it straight away. Review starts when you submit it.

I saved a change to a live course. Why is it not live?

Saving keeps the change private. Choose Submit changes for review at the top of the course; it goes live once NSDP approves it.

Why can't I change the price?

The fee of a recorded course is set by NSDP (Rs 1,000 per month, times the months the course takes, paid in one payment at checkout). The New course page and the Pricing tab show it, but it cannot be edited.

Can I change the category or subcategory?

Yes, in Basic details on the Information screen. Both are required: changing the category clears the subcategory, so choose a new one before you save. On a course in review the change goes into your change request like any other edit.

Can I delete a course?

An instructor can delete their own draft that was never published (Delete draft in the ⋯ menu of the Recorded courses list). Anything else is deleted by NSDP administration; a course with active enrolments can't simply be removed.

Do I set up the certificate?

No. The certificate design is set by NSDP and is the same for every recorded course. When certificates are switched on for the school, instructors preview it on the course's Certificates tab.

Why can't I see Generate with AI?

It appears only for instructors when the school has AI tools connected and switched on. Campuses don't have AI tools.
