Each course has a Students tab listing everyone enrolled and how far they have got. For teachers it is a register to follow progress: teachers can't enrol or remove students. Students enrol themselves through the catalogue once the course is live, or NSDP enrols them. A campus has this tab only on a recorded course NSDP attached to it, and there it lists just the students the campus gave the course to.
Enrolment statuses
What each status means
- EnrolledHas access and is learning. Campuses see this as Learning.
- CompletedFinished every lesson (100%).
- Payment pendingStarted checkout or registration but the payment isn't confirmed yet.
- DroppedRemoved from the course or no longer active.
How progress is counted
- Progress is the share of the course's published lessons the student has completed.
- A quiz lesson counts only once the student passes the quiz.
- An assignment lesson counts once the student has submitted it; it doesn't have to be marked first.
- At 100% the enrolment becomes Completed and, if the course has an active certificate, the certificate is issued.
The teacher view
- Figures: Total Students, Active, Completed and Dropped.
- The Course enrollments list shows each student's name, email, status, progress % and enrolment date, ten per page. Search student... finds a name or email.
- The row menu opens the student's record (View Profile). Where admins see Unenroll Student, teachers see View only.
- The student record shows the student's details and code, enrolment status, Course Progress, Lessons Completed and Modules Completed. It says: This is a view-only record. Student profile management and enrollment changes are handled by administrators.
- Students who have the course only through a bundle aren't listed here; see the bundle's Students page.
The campus view: students your campus gave the course to
- A campus has a Students tab only on a recorded course NSDP attached to it. The tab lists only the students your campus gave the course to. Students who bought the course, or were enrolled by NSDP, are not listed.
- Give to a student gives the course free to one of your own students: a student registered, and not dropped, in an on-site batch held at your campus. Type at least two letters to search; only your own students are found. The course must be live. The student gets an email and free access. There is no payment and no invoice, and nobody earns from it.
- Open a student and choose Take the course back to remove the access your campus gave. Their progress and assignment submissions for the course are deleted. You can't remove a student your campus did not give the course to.
- A suspended campus can still read the list but can't give a course or take it back.
- Figures: Enrolled, Active this week (studied in the last 7 days), Average progress, Completed and Certificates.
- Filters: search by name, email or student code; status (Learning, Completed, Payment pending, Dropped); progress band (Not started, Started 1–49%, Past halfway 50–99%, Finished); sort (newest, oldest, most or least progress, recently active, name).
- Export CSV downloads the students matching the filters (up to 5000), with progress, lessons completed, last activity, completion date and certificate serial.
- Select a student to open Student progress: every module and lesson marked Completed, Started or Not started.
- Last activity is the last time the enrolment changed, normally the student finishing a lesson, watching a video or taking a quiz. A change made by NSDP (for example unlocking a section) also counts.
Who can change what
| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| Enrol or remove a student | NSDP administration (or the student through checkout). |
| Open modules early for one student | NSDP administration. |
| Reset progress | NSDP administration. |
| Give an attached course free to a student, and take it back | The campus the course is attached to, for its own students only. |
| Mark assignments | The teacher and NSDP. A campus can't mark work. |
| Moderate the student's comments | The teacher and NSDP. A campus only reads the comments on a course attached to it. |

FAQ
How do I add a student to my course?
You can't from the Students tab. Share the course or checkout link so the student can enrol, or ask NSDP administration to enrol them.
Why is a student stuck below 100%?
A quiz not passed, an assignment not submitted, or a module that hasn't opened yet for them. Open their record to see lessons and modules completed.
Teachers: why does Export CSV not work for me?
Exports are done by NSDP administration. Ask them for the list.
Can I message a student from here?
Not from this list. Teachers can write to a course's students from Email; see Emailing your students.
Does progress update straight away?
Yes, as students complete lessons. Use Refresh or reload the page.
