Opening the chat always starts a new conversation, so every question gets a clean start. Your earlier conversations are not lost: they are under Previous chats in the chat's menu (the three dots at the top).
Open an earlier chat
Step 1: Open the chat
Press the round green button with the NSDP crest at the bottom right.
Step 2: Choose Previous chats
In the menu (three dots). Each row shows the question, the last message, the date and whether NSDP's team is in it.
Step 3: Read it
Older messages load with Load earlier at the top.
Step 4: Carry on, or start fresh
Your latest open chat has Continue this chat. Older chats, and chats our team closed, are read-only: start a new chat instead.
On the website: staying signed in to the chat
- The first time you chat on nsdp.pk you give your name and email. This browser then remembers you (a secure cookie) and greets you by name, on every page and in new tabs.
- On a shared or public computer, choose Not you? in the chat menu when you are done. The browser forgets you; nothing is deleted at NSDP.
- Clearing your cookies, using a private window or another device means giving your name and email again. You can start chatting straight away.
Seeing chats from your other devices
Step 1: Open Previous chats
Below your chats from this device you see Chatted with us on another device?
Step 2: Press Email me a code
We email a 6-digit code to the address you gave. It works for 10 minutes.
Step 3: Type the code
Your chats under that email appear, and you can carry on with the latest one.
Why does the chat start empty every time?
Each visit starts a new conversation so answers stay about your new question. If you were chatting a few minutes ago in the same tab, or our team is answering you, that chat simply carries on.
The code did not arrive.
Check spam or promotions, wait a minute and press Send a new code. The code goes to the email you gave in the chat; if that was mistyped, choose Not you? and start again with the right address.
Can I delete my chats?
Chats are deleted automatically after the retention period. To ask for earlier removal, contact NSDP support.
