NSDP sends two kinds of email. Account and service emails are about something you did or that concerns your account: sign-in codes, password resets, enrolments, payments, certificates and similar. Bulk emails are written by NSDP or an instructor and sent to a group of students. You can stop bulk emails; account and service emails keep coming because your account depends on them.
| Examples | Can you stop it? | |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and security | Email sign-in codes, password resets, account details | Only through Manage notifications, and doing so stops email-code sign-in and password reset emails (see below) |
| Account and service | Enrolment, receipts and payment results, certificates, class reminders, replies to your comments, marked assignments | Not on their own. They are sent whenever they apply |
| Bulk emails | An email written to everyone in a course or batch | Yes, with your email app's Unsubscribe option when it shows one |
| Partner referral emails | A new commission, a partner joining with your code, a payout | Yes, partners only: Settings → Email me about my referrals |
Stopping bulk emails
- Many email apps show an Unsubscribe button or link at the top of a bulk email. Using it stops bulk emails from NSDP to that address.
- The page that opens confirms: "You're unsubscribed". Account and security emails are not affected.
- If the link says "Link not valid", the link was changed or cut short. Use the button in your email app again, or contact NSDP support.
The Manage notifications page
Some account emails have a Manage notifications link at the bottom. It opens a page for OTP & account emails: login codes, password resets and account details. It shows your email and one of these states:
What each status means
- SubscribedYou get sign-in codes and password reset emails as normal.
- UnsubscribedSign-in codes and password reset emails are stopped. You can still sign in with your password.
- Awaiting email confirmationYou asked to resubscribe. Open the Subscriber Activation email, follow its link, then finish on the page it opens.
- Delivery restrictedEmails to your address bounced or were reported as spam. Resubscribing cannot clear this; contact NSDP support.
Turning sign-in code emails back on
Step 1: Ask to resubscribe
Choose Resubscribe to OTP emails on the Manage notifications page or in the OTP emails are turned off box in the student portal, or Send resubscription email on the sign-in page when a code can't be sent.
Step 2: Open the Subscriber Activation email
Check your inbox and Spam or Junk. Follow its activation link.
Step 3: Complete resubscription
On the page the link opens, choose Complete resubscription. Sign-in codes and password resets reach you again.
Messages you might see
“You have unsubscribed from this school's OTP and account emails. Resubscribe to receive email login codes, or sign in with your password.”
WhyYou asked for a sign-in code after unsubscribing.
FixSign in with your password, or resubscribe as above.
“Your subscription has not been restored yet. Please try again shortly or contact school support.”
FixWait a few minutes and try again. If it continues, contact NSDP support.
Partners: referral emails
In the partner portal, Settings → Notifications → Email me about my referrals turns off the emails about new commissions, partners who join with your code and payouts. The bell in the portal still shows everything.
If NSDP emails stop arriving
- Check Spam, Junk and Promotions, and add the sender to your contacts.
- Check that the email on your account is right in your profile.
- If you see Delivery restricted or emails still don't arrive, contact NSDP support with the email address on your account.
