NSDP is open to learners across Pakistan and to Pakistanis overseas. You can take recorded courses and live Zoom classes from anywhere in the world. On-campus classes are only held at NSDP campuses in Pakistan, so overseas learners study online.
What you can take from abroad
| Format | From outside Pakistan? |
|---|---|
| Recorded (self-paced) course | Yes. Start any time and learn at your own pace. |
| Live Zoom class | Yes. Join the Zoom classes of your batch at their scheduled times. |
| On-campus class | No. Campuses are only in Pakistan. |
Signing up
Apply on the NSDP website (nsdp.pk, Start registration) and choose Outside Pakistan. Then choose your country of residence and your ID type: NICOP or POC if you are an overseas Pakistani, otherwise your passport or national ID. Enter the number exactly as on the document (6 to 20 letters and digits) and your mobile number with its country code. You choose self-paced and live Zoom courses; on-campus classes are not offered to overseas applicants.
A student account made on the NSDP portal's own sign-up page needs only your name, email and a password. On your account you can add a foreign phone number with its country code (for example +971 …).
Class times and time zones
- Class times are shown in Pakistan time (PKT, UTC+5), with the label PKT next to the time. Pakistan does not change its clocks for summer time.
- If a class runs in another time zone, its own zone label is shown instead.
- Work out your local time before you join a batch. For example, a 7:00 pm PKT class is 6:00 pm in the UAE (UTC+4) and 3:00 pm in the UK in winter (UTC+0).
Paying from abroad
- Card (Stripe) accepts Visa, Mastercard and other international cards.
- PayPal lets you pay with your PayPal balance or a card linked to it.
- Prices are in PKR. Checkout shows only the methods NSDP has switched on.
- PayFast, PayPro (1Bill) and bank transfer also work if you have a Pakistani bank account or wallet.
Laptop Scheme and Asaan Karobar Card
If your profile shows that you live in a country other than Pakistan, you are ranked in the Overseas (online) pool, separate from the province pools of online students in Pakistan and from the campus pools. The requirements, tests and interviews are the same for everyone.
Overseas affiliate partners and instructors
Affiliate partners and instructors can also join from abroad. To verify their identity NSDP accepts a CNIC, NICOP, POC or passport (any country's passport), and payouts can go to a bank account in their own name: a Pakistani or international IBAN, or an account number with the bank's SWIFT code.
