Your teacher portal at a glance

A tour of the teacher portal: the dashboard, every menu group and row, the New menu, the course workspace tabs, and where to go for each job.

The teacher portal is where you build your recorded courses and live Zoom classes, look after your students, and follow your earnings. It opens on your Dashboard after you sign in as a teacher.

The dashboard

The Dashboard greets you by name and sums up your work. New recorded course and New live Zoom class sit at the top, with a More menu beside them.

AreaWhat it shows
Figures at the topStudents, Earnings available, Course completions and Courses published. Each one opens the page behind it.
Needs your attentionWhat NSDP and your students are waiting on: courses that came back from review, dispute replies, withdrawals that need your answer, submissions to grade, comments waiting for review, and a reminder to finish your public profile. It reads All caught up when nothing is waiting.
Your performanceToday vs yesterday: what you earned today, split into self-paced courses and live classes, and your new students. Below it, a period you choose (Last 7 days, This month, Last month, Last 6 months or Custom dates) with a table of earnings, enrolments and completions. A custom period can be up to one year.
Today's live classesYour classes for today and later this week.
Returned from reviewCourses NSDP sent back, with the reviewer's note.
Recent coursesYour latest courses with their status, and links to their setup, curriculum, comments and students.
Enrolments and review requestsA chart of both over the range you pick.
Quick linksShortcuts to a new course, a new live class, Assignment marking, your public profile and the Help centre.
EarningsRemaining balance (free to withdraw now), then Total revenue, Your earnings, Withdrawn, Requested, On hold and School retained, a split By product, and Refunded payments.
Recent activityThe latest things that happened on your courses and classes.

The menu on the left is split into six groups. A gold badge on a row means something there is waiting for you.

WebsiteOpens the public website in a new tab. Also in the strip at the foot of the menu.

Rows that are no longer in the menu

  • Bundles: instructors can no longer create bundles, so the row and the New bundle action are gone. See Course bundles.
  • Downloads: the page still exists, but it is not a menu row. Open it from the media links inside the editors, for example Manage media under a live class's cover image. See Selling digital downloads.
  • Class work: a live Zoom class keeps its assignments, quizzes and resources in its own Curriculum & batches tab. Only on-campus classes still have a separate page, On-campus class work.

The top bar and the New menu

  • The menu button in the top bar folds the menu to icons and opens it again.
  • The green New menu starts something new: New recorded course, New live Zoom class, New on-site course (only if a campus has linked you) and Raise a dispute. It lists only what your role may create.
  • Next to it are shortcuts to your student messages, the Help centre and the public website.
  • The account menu on the right has Profile, Account & security and sign out.

The course workspace

Open a course from Recorded courses and a row of tabs appears under the course's header.

If you teach at a campus

  • The portal is the same. When you create a course you also choose whether it is your own course or belongs to one of your campuses.
  • Teaching → On-site courses appears in your menu: courses taught at one of your campuses, with a duration and weekly plan instead of batches and meeting links (see Running an on-site course).
  • Student work → On-campus class work appears too: the assignments, quizzes and materials of your on-campus classes.
  • Your campus can see and moderate comments on the courses you teach; its replies show as Campus.

Common questions

I'm new. Where do I start?

Complete Profile setup first, then choose New recorded course or New live Zoom class on the dashboard. See Creating a course and getting it published.

Why does my new course not appear in the school's catalogue?

Courses start as drafts. They appear only once they are published, and publishing usually goes through NSDP review. Follow it on Review requests.

Can I enrol students myself?

No. Students enrol through the catalogue, or NSDP enrols them. You can see who is enrolled on each course's Students tab.

Where do I see what I have earned?

On the dashboard (if your school shows it) and on Earnings & withdrawals.

The sidebar is too wide on my screen.

Use the menu button in the top bar to fold the menu to icons. Use it again to bring the menu back.

Where did Bundles, Downloads and Class work go?

They are no longer menu rows. Instructors cannot create bundles now; Downloads opens from the media links in the editors; class work for a live Zoom class is in its Curriculum & batches tab.

Why can't I change the price of my course?

NSDP sets the fee for each kind of programme. The Pricing tab shows it, but you cannot change it.
