A batch is one group of students taking an on-site course together: its own start date, class days, venue, seats and registration window. An approved on-site course comes with its first batch, and your campus can add more (see Adding a batch). Batches (menu → Teaching) is where you run every batch: registration, the students holding a seat, each class with its register, and changes to single classes.

The life of a batch

Process mapFrom approval to the last classNSDPCampusSystem
  1. NSDP

    Course approved

The course is published and its first batch appears on Batches, registration not launched yet.

  2. Campus

    Registration open

You choose Launch registration (or open it when adding a batch). Students take seats from the catalogue.

  3. System

    Good outcome: Registration closed

When the seats are full, the deadline passes, or you close it.

  4. Campus

    Running

From the start date: take the register on each class day; cancel or move single classes when needed.

  5. System

    Ended

After the last day the batch moves to Past with its records.

Registration states you may see

  • Not launchedNobody can register yet. Open the batch and choose Launch registration.
  • Registration openTaking sign-ups. Shows the closing date. Late joiners are added to the class list as they register.
  • Registration closedNo more sign-ups. Shows why it closed and when.
  • FullClosed because every seat is taken.

Closing date passedThe admission deadline has passed.

Opening, closing and reopening registration

  1. Step 1: Open the batch

On Batches, open the batch (or choose Open batch on the course's Batches tab).

Sign in to open this screen
  2. Step 2: Launch registration

Optionally set a closing date and a seat limit, then confirm. The course must be approved and published, and the batch must not have started without a closing date.

  3. Step 3: Close registration

Choose Close registration when you want no more sign-ups. Students already holding a seat keep it.

  4. Step 4: Reopen if needed

Reopen registration opens it again. If it closed because it was full, raise the seat limit first (Edit batch).

Seat limits

  • Each on-site batch has a seat limit. It can be any number up to your campus's seats per batch, which NSDP sets on your campus profile; leaving the field empty uses that number.
  • A seat limit can never go below the number of students already holding a seat.
  • When the last seat is taken, registration closes automatically and new sign-ups are refused.
  • Very rarely a student who had already paid when the last seat went is still given a place, so a batch can show one more student than its limit.
  • The Dashboard's seats left counts only batches that have a limit.

Inside a batch

  • Registration: the state, the deadline, and Launch / Close / Reopen.
  • Students: everyone holding a seat (and anyone who dropped, with their status).
  • Classes: every class with its date and time, Attendance from its day and Change to cancel, move or mark it held.
  • Edit batch: venue, seats and the admission window at any time; the start date, class days and times of an intake your campus added until it starts.
  • Delete: only for an intake your campus added that nobody ever registered in.
  • Batches that ended or were cancelled are under Past.

FAQ

Can our campus create a batch or change its timetable?

Yes, for your own approved on-site courses: Add a batch runs another intake with its own dates, class days and times. The course's first batch follows the course plan, which the teacher and NSDP set. Single classes of any batch can be cancelled or moved with Change.

Why can't we see any students yet?

Students appear as they register, once registration is launched. Check the batch's registration state.

Can we add a student ourselves?

No. Students register and pay through NSDP. Ask NSDP if someone needs to be added.

A course of ours has no batch on the page.

A course's batch appears once NSDP has approved and published the course. While it is in review or returned, it is not on Batches yet.

Do our batches stop if the campus is suspended?

No, batches already running continue and stay visible, but registration, class changes and attendance cannot be changed until the campus is reactivated.
