The demand forecast for your area

How the Demand forecast page works out which course categories students in your city or district want, what High demand means, and what to do with a "consider a new batch" suggestion.

Demand forecast (under Workspace, /campus/demand) compares the on-site batches in your city, and in your district when your campus profile names one, by course category. It shows where seats are running out and suggests where a new batch would fill.

What is counted

FigureWhat it means
Seats takenSeats taken out of all seats in the area's current and upcoming batches of the category.
Seats left (upcoming)Free seats in batches that have not started, so students can still join.
Enrolments, 90 daysNew enrolments in the last 90 days, with the change against the 90 days before.
Unpaid applicationsStudents who started a checkout in the last 30 days and did not pay: interest the seats did not meet.
Full batchesCurrent batches with every seat taken.

Demand levels

What each status means

  • High demandSeats are nearly all taken and too few are left for the recent pace, or unpaid applications outnumber the seats left, or enrolments rose by half (with at least 10 in 90 days).
  • Steady demandMost seats are taken, or enrolments are growing.
  • Seats availableThere is room in the area's batches.

Acting on a suggestion

  • Where your campus already teaches the category, Add a batch opens Batches → Add a batch for another intake of your course.
  • Where it does not, Propose a course opens New on-site course. NSDP reviews new courses before they are published.
  • Check Rooms & timetable → Find a free slot first, so the new batch fits your rooms.
