Classes of an on-site batch follow the course's plan: one class on every class day from the start date for the length of the course. When a day does not go as planned, change that one class rather than the whole batch. Open Batches, open the batch, and choose Change next to the class.
The four actions
| Action | When it is offered | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel this class | A class not cancelled, not marked held and with no attendance taken | The class is skipped: no register, and it no longer counts in attendance percentages or towards certificates. Students are emailed with your reason. |
| Move to another day | A class not cancelled, not marked held and with no attendance taken | The class shows its new day (and times, if you change them) with Moved from the old day. Its register opens on the new day. Students are emailed. |
| Mark as held | From the class's day (its new day if moved) | Records that the class took place. |
| Restore as planned | A class that was cancelled, moved or marked held | Clears the change; the class is back on its planned day and time. |
Fields on this form
- Reason (cancel)Required3–300 characters
- For example: public holiday, venue unavailable. Sent to students.
- New day (move)RequiredToday or later
- The day the class now takes place.
- Class starts / Class ends (move)OptionalDefault: The class's own times
- Change them only if the time moves too; the end must be after the start.
- Reason (move)OptionalUp to 300 characters
- Shown to students with the new day.
Attendance and certificates
- A cancelled class has no register and is left out of the certificate base, so cancelling never pushes a student below the minimum.
- A moved class keeps its register; marks are taken on the new day.
- Restoring a cancelled class brings it back into the certificate base, so mark its attendance if it did take place.

FAQ
Can we add an extra class?
Not as a new class. Move an existing class, or ask NSDP if the course needs more classes.
How are students told?
Cancelling or moving a class emails every student holding a seat in the batch; their timetable shows the change straight away.
Do we have to mark every class as held?
No. Taking the register is enough. Mark as held is for a class you want recorded as having taken place.
