Instructor badges reward instructors whose students do well and rate them highly. They are worked out every night from all your published courses and classes (recorded, live and on-campus) and the approved reviews students left on the NSDP website.
The four instructor badges
| Badge | What it needs (NSDP's standard bars) |
|---|---|
| Master Trainer | 500 or more learners across your courses and classes, a rating of 4.6+ from at least 20 reviews, and at least 40% of your learners completing. |
| Top Rated Instructor | A rating of 4.7+ from at least 50 reviews. |
| Students' Choice | At least 90% of reviewing students say they would recommend you, from at least 30 reviews. |
| Rising Star | Joined NSDP in the last 6 months, with a rating of 4.5+ (at least 5 reviews), 25+ learners and 10+ new learners in the last 30 days. |
Reading your progress
Step 1: Open Badges
Each badge has a card with its conditions, your current figure against the bar and a tick for each condition you meet.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Look at the hint
A line such as 8 more reviews needed tells you the first thing still missing.
Step 3: Check your courses
Your courses and classes lists each published course or class with its own course badges (Bestseller, Top Rated, Trending, New).
Keeping a badge
- Once earned, a badge stays until your figure falls clearly below the bar (about 10% under, or 0.1 star under for ratings), so a single bad week does not remove it.
- Rising Star ends by itself once you have been with NSDP longer than 6 months.
- NSDP may remove a badge after a check (for example, suspicious reviews); it then stays off until NSDP clears it.

Can I ask NSDP for a badge?
Badges follow your numbers. Keep teaching well and they follow.
