Your impact and Best Instructor of the Month

The Your impact page shows what your teaching made possible: students taught, completions, certificates, laptops, Karobar Cards, internships and jobs your students won, your rating and the cities you reached. Each month NSDP names a Best Instructor of the Month with an open formula.

How Best Instructor of the Month is chosen

PartPointsHow it is worked out
Student rating40Your rating, adjusted towards 4.0 when there are few ratings (so one lucky 5★ never wins).
Completions this month30Students who completed your courses or classes that month, compared with the month's highest.
Class attendance20Present marks ÷ all marks in your live and on-campus classes that month (at least 20 marks). Recorded-only instructors: these points are shared over the other parts.
Thank-you notes10Notes students left you that month, compared with the month's highest.
  • To be considered you need at least 5 completions in the month and 3 ratings in all.
  • A winner can win again after 2 months, so the award moves around.
  • Ties go to more completions, then more ratings, then the longer-standing instructor.
  • NSDP reviews the ranking and may choose another instructor with a written reason. If nobody acts, the formula's winner is published on day 7 of the next month.

Every instructor sees the current winner on their dashboard and Your impact page, and the NSDP website can feature them. The winner gets a congratulations e-mail and a certificate under Your impact → Your certificate, to print or save as PDF.

For NSDP: reviewing and publishing

  1. Step 1: Open Teachers & Staff → Instructor of the month

    Needs Edit teachers (/admin/instructor-of-the-month).

  2. Step 2: Open a month

Every ranked instructor with each part of their score, and why others did not qualify.

  3. Step 3: Pick another instructor if needed

Write why; the reason is kept on the record.

  4. Step 4: Publish

Gives the certificate number and e-mails the winner. A published award no longer changes.

Why is my figure lower than my enrolments?

Students taught counts each student once, however many of your courses they took.

My student won a laptop but it is not counted.

It counts when the student applied through one of your courses or classes. Applications through another instructor's course count for them.

How fresh are the numbers?

They are rebuilt every few hours. Press Refresh on the page to rebuild them now.
