The NSDP Portal Zoom app lets an instructor of the National Skills Development Program (NSDP) run their live classes on their own Zoom account from inside the portal at portal.nsdp.pk. Once connected, the portal creates a Zoom meeting for every class in the instructor's approved timetable, lets the instructor start the class as host, lets enrolled students join from the portal, and attaches the class recording when Zoom finishes it.
Before you start (prerequisites)
- An NSDP instructor account on portal.nsdp.pk (created or approved by NSDP). Instructors are verified adults; the instructor workspace is only reachable after signing in.
- A Zoom account in your own name. A licensed Zoom account is recommended so classes are not cut at 40 minutes and cloud recording works.
- At least one live Zoom class in the portal that NSDP has approved, with dates and start times for its classes.
Adding the app (connect your Zoom account)
Step 1: Sign in to the portal
Go to portal.nsdp.pk, sign in and choose the Instructor workspace.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Open Live Zoom classes
Choose Teaching → Live Zoom classes. At the top you see the card Your Zoom account.
Sign in to open this screenStep 3: Choose Connect Zoom
You are sent to Zoom. Sign in with your Zoom account and review the permissions listed below.
Step 4: Choose Allow
Zoom sends you back to the portal. The card now shows Connected and the Zoom account you used.
Step 5: Done
You connect once. From now on the portal schedules a Zoom meeting for each class by itself; you never copy meeting links.
Using the app
| What happens | Where you see it |
|---|---|
| Every class in your approved timetable gets its own Zoom meeting, scheduled on your Zoom account (with a passcode and cloud recording on). If a date or time changes and NSDP approves it, the meeting is updated. | The class workspace → Classes tab → Zoom meetings list (each class shows On Zoom with its date and time). |
| You start the class as the host. | Start class beside the class in the Zoom meetings list. |
| Enrolled students join from the portal, 15 minutes before the start until 30 minutes after the end. The portal checks their enrolment first. | Student panel → Live classes → the class → Join. |
| Attendance is taken from Zoom's participant list. | The batch's attendance register. |
| When Zoom finishes the cloud recording, it is attached to the class for enrolled students. | The class page → Recordings. |
| If meetings ever fall out of step (for example after a Zoom outage), Update Zoom now schedules them again at once. The portal also checks every few minutes by itself. | Update Zoom now above the Zoom meetings list. |
What the app can access (scopes)
| Permission | Why the portal needs it |
|---|---|
View your user profile (user:read:user) | Show which Zoom account is connected (name and email) and link classes to it. |
Get your host key (user:read:zak) | Start your class as the host from the portal when you choose Start class. |
Create, view, update and delete meetings (meeting:write:meeting, meeting:read:meeting, meeting:update:meeting, meeting:delete:meeting) | Create the meeting of each class, keep it in step with the timetable, and remove meetings of classes that are cancelled. |
View meeting participants (meeting:read:participant) | Take attendance automatically. |
View and delete cloud recordings (cloud_recording:read:list_recording_files, cloud_recording:read:recording, cloud_recording:delete:meeting_recording) | Attach the class recording for students, then remove the copy from your Zoom cloud once it is safely stored by NSDP, so your Zoom storage stays free. |
The portal does not read your chats, contacts, other meetings or any data outside the classes you teach on NSDP. Zoom tokens are stored encrypted and are never shown in the browser.

Removing the app
Step 1: Disconnect in the portal
Go to Teaching → Live Zoom classes → Your Zoom account and choose Disconnect. The portal deletes your saved Zoom tokens at once.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Remove the app from Zoom (optional)
Sign in at marketplace.zoom.us, open Manage → Added Apps, find NSDP Portal and choose Remove. Zoom tells the portal, and the portal deletes your tokens straight away.
Questions
Can students or under-age users connect Zoom?
No. Only signed-in NSDP instructors can reach the Connect Zoom button. Students join classes through the portal and never authorise the app.
Does NSDP see my other Zoom meetings?
No. The portal only works with the meetings it created for your NSDP classes.
Who do I contact for help?
Email support.department@nsdp.pk with your instructor email and the class name.
