The Question bank (menu: Teaching → Question bank) holds every question you write once and use many times. Each quiz builder has an Add from question bank button that copies questions in.
Writing a question
Step 1: Choose New question
Pick the type, the difficulty (easy, medium, hard) and the marks.
Step 2: Write the question and the answers
Tick the correct option. A two-answer question has exactly two correct options, because quizzes accept one or two correct answers. A short-answer question has the expected answer instead of options.
Step 3: Add an explanation
Students see it after answering, so it should teach, not just repeat the answer.
Step 4: Add a topic and tags
Tags (for example
week-2,vlookup) let you filter and pick random sets later.Step 5: Link it to a course (optional)
Link it to one of your courses or classes, and a lesson. Tick Share with others teaching this course to let them use it.
Adding questions to a quiz
| Quiz | Where the button is | Question types it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Recorded course lesson quiz | The quiz editor's top bar, next to Generate Quiz with AI | Multiple choice and true / false |
| Live or on-campus class work quiz | Under the questions, next to Add a question | Questions with one correct answer (multiple choice, true / false) |
Step 1: Choose Add from question bank
Only approved questions that fit this quiz are listed.
Step 2: Choose questions, or a random set
Choose questions lets you tick them by hand, with search, tag and difficulty filters. Random set picks how many you ask for, by tags and difficulty; A mix spreads the questions across easy, medium and hard.
Step 3: Save the quiz
The questions are copied into the quiz. Editing them there does not change the bank, and deleting a bank question does not remove it from quizzes.
Importing and exporting CSV
Export downloads your own questions as a CSV. Import CSV reads the same columns: type, question, option_1 … option_6, correct, explanation, difficulty, tags, topic, points.
| Column | What to write |
|---|---|
type | mcq_single, mcq_multi, true_false or short_answer |
correct | The option number (2), two numbers for a two-answer question (1;3), True / False, or the expected short answer |
tags | Separated by ; |
difficulty | easy, medium or hard (empty = medium) |
Choose Check the file first: it lists any rows with problems by line number and how many questions are ready. Rows with problems are skipped; the rest are imported. Up to 500 questions per file.
Drafting questions from a lesson with AI
Step 1: Choose Draft from a lesson
Pick one of your recorded lessons, or paste text (lesson notes, a description or a transcript, at least 200 characters).
Step 2: Choose how many and which types
Up to the school's limit per draft (15 by default), the difficulty, and the question types.
Step 3: Choose Make a draft
It can take up to a minute. The questions are saved to your bank as drafts, labelled AI draft: check before use.
Step 4: Check every question
Open each with Check: fix the wording, confirm the correct answer is really correct, improve the explanation, then Save and approve. Delete any you do not want.
The button says AI drafts are not available
The school has not set up its AI service, has switched drafts off, or its daily AI budget is used up. You can still write and import questions.
How many drafts can I make?
5 a day by default (Pakistan time), set by the school. The count resets at midnight.
A video lesson gave “too little text”
Drafts use the lesson's written text. Paste the video's notes or transcript with From pasted text instead.
For administrators
AI drafts use the provider and API key set in Admin → AI Assistant (the same as NSDP Rehnuma); no separate key is needed. Under Limits & cost → Instructor quiz drafts you can switch drafts off, set drafts per instructor per day and questions per draft, and see the estimated cost of one draft at the current model. Draft costs count towards the same daily AI budget as Rehnuma.
